Hi Fellow Traveler,

It’s time for the weekly offers…

Today’s sponsor is Roku; check it out below.

Oh, and I’m re-launching my book which features 8 stories of kind people I met along my travel journey; Around the World In 8 Acts Of Kindness.

And if you buy today, I’ll throw in my latest book, [Major Airlines and Their Hubs (Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, Oceania, South America), a $7.89 value] as a bonus at no extra cost to you. I’ll email you a link for the PDF after your purchase.

PS: The price of the Kindness book will increase with the re-launch, so the current pricing is temporary.

Here’s what I have to highlight this week:

  • Virgin Voyages Halloween Cruise

  • Qantas Red Tail Sale

  • Marriott Bonvoy Flash Sale

  • Tours with my partner Walks

Plus in the Tips section, I talk about how to check Award pricing by monitoring the cash pricing of tickets.

MILES/POINTS TIP

Tip of the Week: Set Fare Alerts to Optimize Points Redemption

Airline award prices often fluctuate based on demand and availability. By setting up fare alerts on websites like Google Flights, you can monitor when cash prices drop. Lower cash fares can mean fewer miles required for an award ticket, especially with airlines that have dynamic pricing. This helps you redeem fewer points for the same flight.

Pro Tip: Combine this strategy with flexible travel dates to maximize your chances of snagging a great deal. The fewer points you use per trip, the more trips you can take!

How to Set Up Fare Alerts on Google Flights

  1. Visit Google Flights:

  2. Enter Your Travel Details:

    • Input your departure and destination airports.

    • Select your travel dates. If you're flexible, you can explore the calendar view to see the cheapest dates.

  3. Adjust Search Filters (Optional):

    • Use filters to specify airlines, number of stops, price ranges, and flight times.

  4. Turn On Price Tracking:

    • Look for the "Track prices" toggle above the flight results.

    • Click the toggle to turn it on. You'll need to be signed in to your Google account.

  5. Receive Notifications:

    • Google Flights will send you email updates when prices change significantly for your selected route and dates.
