[Kerwin at Passrider.com] Air Canada Flight Disruptions | Trip To Costa Rica | More Oshkosh Videos
In this issue, I take about the pending Air Canada strike and a friend is organizing a trip to Costa Rica for you to check out.
Hi Fellow Traveler,
Thanks for taking the time out of your busy day to read my words. It is appreciated!
If you’ve got a question, just hit reply please. Thanks for the questions you’ve sent in.
Air Canada Pending Strike
If you go to Air Canada’s website now you will see the message below. I’ve also seen online that Air Canada have suspended pass travel for their employees and other airline employees. Which makes sense as they want to concentrate on taking care of the revenue customers. This is all due to the planned flight attendants’ strike:
“Labour disruptions are impacting our operations
We are currently winding down our operations due to a planned strike by CUPE, the union representing Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge flight attendants. Please do not head to the airport unless you have a confirmed itinerary”
If you are an airline staff, traveling during the time of the planned strike, you WILL have issues as Star Alliance partners such as United and Lufthansa will be transporting affected customers.
If you are a revenue customer, you would have received emails and/or phone calls about rebooking. You are entitled to a refund if your flight is cancelled, but you want to be rebooked, not have a refund.
Good luck to you during this time.

Learn from this investor’s $100m mistake
In 2010, a Grammy-winning artist passed on investing $200K in an emerging real estate disruptor. That stake could be worth $100+ million today.
One year later, another real estate disruptor, Zillow, went public. This time, everyday investors had regrets, missing pre-IPO gains.
Now, a new real estate innovator, Pacaso – founded by a former Zillow exec – is disrupting a $1.3T market. And unlike the others, you can invest in Pacaso as a private company.
Pacaso’s co-ownership model has generated $1B+ in luxury home sales and service fees, earned $110M+ in gross profits to date, and received backing from the same VCs behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.
Paid advertisement for Pacaso’s Regulation A offering. Read the offering circular at invest.pacaso.com. Reserving a ticker symbol is not a guarantee that the company will go public. Listing on the NASDAQ is subject to approvals.

Passrider Travel Tip of the Week
Navigate Around Air Canada’s Disruptions with Proactive Planning
Air Canada is facing a potential strike from its flight attendants starting early Saturday, August 16, 2025 prompting the airline to cancel hundreds of flights—both domestic and international—as part of a phased shutdown.
Here’s how to stay ahead when non-revving during these disruptions:
Avoid Air Canada routes wherever possible—switch to alternative carriers or friendlier alliance partners early before seats vanish.
Stay away from Star Alliance options, particularly from U.S. gateways like Toronto–Pearson (YYZ).
Stay flexible with positioning—if heading into Canada, consider flying into nearby U.S. or alternate Canadian airports not served by Air Canada, if possible, then ground transfer the rest of the way.
Pack light and think ahead—strike disruptions can drag out; being mobile increases your odds of quick pivots if flights collapse.
In short: Strike chaos = non-rev headaches, unless you’ve got backup plans and move fast.
