Hi Fellow Traveler,
If you’re new to the newsletter, welcome. If you’re a regular reader, thank you so much for reading my words each week :-).
Bula (Hello) from Nadi, Fiji. Hanging out for the next few hours until my flight later tonight. I’m not doing the super touristy thing while I’m here. Just checking out the local scene. I even took the bus in and out of Nadi.
PS: It’s super hot here and cloudy today, which kept it a bit cooler. But we just had some torrential rain, which is typical of this region.
I hope you’ve been following my stories on Instagram as I’ve been sharing my time in Melbourne. It’s a fun city as there’s so much to see and do. It’s a walking city too. I have more videos and insights coming. So stay tuned.

Wifi has been spotty or slow during this trip. Even here in Fiji, it’s a struggle.

A Story
So, I was thinking of where to spend the 16 hours or so on the ground while here. So just before I left MEL, I booked a hotel room for the same night since I didn’t want to b
ook for tonight and not be able to check-in early or be charged for it.
I called the hotel and they mentioned that they did have a day rate. Grrr.
Once here I tried to negotiate for them to just do my stay as a day rate, but they said no, which was weird. They gave me late checkout until noon, which wasn’t too bad. I should have used my friend’s website called Nappr.com for day rooms.

Refresh Your Travel Apps and Tools The start of the year is a great time to update airline apps, recheck non-rev rules, and organize your travel essentials. Ensure you’re ready to make quick decisions with the latest tools for tracking loads and seat availability.
Target Midweek Flights (if you can) Tuesdays and Wednesdays remain your best bet for non-rev travel, especially during this quieter time of year. Morning flights on these days typically see lighter loads.
