Use Early Morning Flights to Beat Summer Crowds
As summer peaks, flights get tight — but early morning departures still give you the best odds:
✅ They’re less likely to be oversold because fewer paying passengers want that 5–6 a.m. wake-up. But also bear in mind that if there was an issue the night before, these flights may be overbooked or full.
✅ They’re less impacted by rolling delays later in the day.
✅ If you miss your first try, you still have multiple flights ahead to roll over to.
Pro move: Book your backup options before you even get to the airport — so if your 6 a.m. flight fills, you’re ready for the next option. Be sure to comply to your airline’s listing policy as well.
Non-rev summer (all time) rule: The earlier, the better.
