Hi {{Name|Fellow Traveler}},

Thank you for being an avid reader. I appreciate it.

It was a busy week, so I’m writing on a Saturday again; sorry about that.

Kwanzaa started on the 26th for those who celebrate it.

I hope you had a fantastic Christmas Holiday if you celebrate it. Now it’s time to prepare for the New Year 2026.

Typically, I’d head somewhere new for the new year, but I have kind of just chilled over the last few years. I really want to chase the new year one year though…

New Year’s flight loads are typically high, but it’s destination-dependent. So take a look at different places, check the flight loads, and go somewhere that’s open.

Just know that popular places will be full. And my number one tip is to return home on New Year’s Day.

Thank you for your support this year. I hope I provided you with helpful information throughout the year.

I will continue providing quality travel information for you in 2026. If there is anything you’d like me to provide specifically, please do not hesitate to hit reply and let me know. I have a few things in the pipeline, but sadly, they are slow to come to fruition, so stay tuned.

Hurricane Melissa Relief Continues

I’m working on a project for the people whose lives have been upturned in rural Jamaica. I should have some news soon. I hope you will help support the project.

Please continue to think of the people in Jamaica as they try to get back on their feet. This includes my own family members, who also had damage to their homes. They all survived, thankfully, but as you can imagine, it’s pretty hard on them and their neighbors.

I’m amazed at the number of organization that does the work of getting people back on their feet. Hats off to them.

This young man in Jamaica, Colaz Smith, has a YouTube channel, and he’s taking donations and then buying supplies for the affected people. These are the people in areas hard hit, but difficult to get to. Head over to https://colazsmithtvtours.com/helpjamaica to donate. You can see his YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@Colazsmithtv.

These organizations need your financial support. TIME magazine has a great article with some helpful links; please check it out: https://time.com/7329186/hurricane-melissa-caribbean-impact-victims-how-to-help-relief-organizations/.

Jamaica is coordinating its efforts at https://supportjamaica.gov.jm/donate.

This is a good starting point. Monetary donations are preferable, allowing recipients to use the funds as needed.

UNICEF and the International Red Cross also have resources set up.

Another organization is Samaritans Purse. You can donate at https://samaritanspurse.org/ y clicking on the Give button.

✈️ Passrider Non-Rev Travel Tip of the Week

✈️ Passrider Final Non-Rev Tip of the Year: Travel with Intention, Not Urgency

As we close out the year, it’s worth remembering something we often forget in the middle of loads, lines, and last-minute decisions:

Not every trip has to happen.

Non-rev travel gives us incredible freedom — but it also teaches us when to pause. The end of the year is a good moment to travel with intention, not urgency.

Before your next trip, ask yourself:

  • Do I really need to go right now?

  • Am I traveling because it adds value — or because I feel pressure to make it work?

  • Would waiting a week make this trip easier, calmer, or more enjoyable?

Sometimes the smartest non-rev move is:

  • staying put

  • resting

  • letting the system calm down

  • and traveling when the experience will actually be better

Pro mindset for the new year:
Use your non-rev privileges to enhance your life — not exhaust it. The planes will still be there next week, next month, and next year.

Thank you for traveling with me this year. See you in the skies in the next one.
