Passrider Travel Tip of the Week

Be Prepared for Last-Minute Seat Assignments

When flying non-rev, you usually don’t get a seat assignment until minutes before departure. To increase your chances of getting on board smoothly:

  • Stay close to the gate and listen for announcements—some airlines won’t page non-revs, so be proactive. Yes, some airlines inform you via their App, but that’s not always the case. Especially if the flight is full and/or weight restricted.

  • Have your bags at the ready to go to avoid delays if you're assigned a seat at the last second.

  • Be flexible with seating—if the agent asks if you’re okay with a middle seat, take it! A seat is better than waiting for the next flight. And be prepared to split up if you can. Oftentimes, there is only one seat available and there are two of you. Don’t let the agent have to wait for your decision.

  • Know the aircraft layout—if the flight has multiple cabins, there’s always a chance of getting a premium seat if space allows or you’ve listed for that cabin.

By staying alert and ready, you’ll improve your chances of getting on board stress-free!

That’s all I got for this week. See you next week. Here’s a new video for you too:
