The year is almost over; there is less than a week to go. I’ll try to have a year in review-next week.
Sorry about the delay this week; I had to attend a friend’s wedding, which kept me busy yesterday. Sometimes, you have to pause for friends.
There are still a lot of people traveling back home from Christmas family celebrations as well as traveling for New Year’s celebrations. As a result, the airports are busy, so give yourself extra time as well as have those backup options in place.

Plan for Post-Holiday Empty Leg Flights
As the year wraps up, many flights are fully booked, but there’s a hidden opportunity for non-rev travelers: post-holiday repositioning flights.
Airlines often move aircraft back to major hubs or prepare for January schedules, resulting in “empty leg” flights with open seats. These flights are more likely to have availability between December 30th and the first week of January.
Check routes back to larger hubs or less popular destinations where aircraft need to be, and have a flexible mindset. This is a prime time to snag seats on flights others might overlook.
