If you’re new to the newsletter, welcome. If you’re a regular reader, thank you so much for reading my words each week :-).

I hope you had a good week and getting ready for the Christmas Holidays. It will be a very busy travel season, so start planning your alternate routes, etc.

The 4-new airline saga is complete.

As it turns out, after checking my logs, I’ve flown 201 airlines and, and I’ve also flown into or out of every U.S. state plus Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Flying into Delaware on avelo was the clincher. Flying Sun Country is the 201st airline. I had already visited every state plus Guam, PR, and the USVI.

Now, I need to fly JSX and Boutique Air among others soon.

Monitor Multiple Flight Options to Increase Your Chances

When flying non-rev, it’s smart to have more than one flight option in mind. Use your airline’s app or website to track multiple flights to your destination, including those with connections.

For example, if nonstop flights from Philadelphia, PA (PHL) are full, consider connecting through a less busy city or hub.

Keeping an eye on gate changes and flight status in real time ensures you can pivot quickly if an unexpected seat opens up.

Bonus tip: Be ready to move between terminals swiftly— For example, PHL’s shuttle bus between Terminals A-East and F can save you time.
