[Kerwin at Passrider.com] New Functionality And Melbourne Australia Revisited

I've added some new functionality in addition to updating the Melbourne post.

Hi Fellow Traveler,

If you’re new to the newsletter, welcome. If you’re a regular reader, thank you so much for reading my words each week :-).

Air Tragedies

My heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the loved ones lost in the two most recent tragic aircraft accidents in Washington D.C. with AA5342 and the military helicopter, plus the accident of the Medjet airplane in Pennsylvania.

You can read more about these two accidents here:

Calendar Update

I’ve updated the Calendar section to help you plan your trips during the coming holidays. Scroll down to take a look.

New Functionality

I’m a big fan of Frankfurt Airport, which has an old departure board. So, I asked my developer to recreate it. He did, and you can take a look at it and test it out at https://www.passrider.com/airport-departure-board/.

In addition to displaying the nonstop flight schedules between two cities, it also allows you to book hotels at the destination and highlights any additional information I have about that airport/city on Passrider.com in the Related Information at the bottom of the display.

Plus if you hover over the “i” or tap it, you will get additional information about the airline operating the flight. If you click on the flight number, more details for the flight is available; which is the information you currently have from the flight schedules.

Please test it out, share it, and let me know what you think and if you think I should add anything additional to the page.

I hope you will like it and find it useful.

Melbourne, Australia

I’ve updated the current travel information page on Melbourne, Australia. You can take a look at https://www.passrider.com/melbourne-australia/

Passrider Travel Tip of the Week

Check for Flights with Unpopular Routing

When flights are full on nonstop routes, look for less obvious connection options to reach your destination. Instead of trying for a busy JFK/EWR–LAX nonstop, consider an alternate routing like JFK/EWR–AUS–LAX or even JFK/EWR–MEX–LAX if it’s within your airline’s network.

Lesser-known hub cities or international gateways often have lighter loads, making it easier to snag a seat. Checking multiple routings and being willing to take an extra connection can significantly improve your non-rev success.

That’s all I got for this week. See you next week. Here’s a new video for you too:
