I took a road trip to San Antonio this past week, so next week, I’ll have a post about San Antonio and things to do there. It was my first time in the Tower there, although I’ve been to San Antonio many times before. It was at night and as the elevators were so slow I missed the sunset. I just needed to go a bit earlier :-0. Still good city views though.
I’m also trying to see if I can get Elite status at Hyatt, so I’m trying to stay at Hyatts when I travel. Which hotel chain is your favorite?
Have you been to San Antonio?

Passrider Travel Tip of the Week
Watch for End-of-Summer Family Travel Surges
As summer winds down, families are squeezing in last-minute vacations before school starts — and that means flights are filling up fast, especially to and from popular vacation destinations and college towns.
Here’s how to stay ahead:
✅ Avoid peak weekend flights — Tuesday and Wednesday still offer the best non-rev chances if these days fit your schedule.
✅ Be flexible with return dates — many travelers head home on Sundays or Labor Day weekend, so stay a day later if you can.
✅ Check college town airports (like AUS, RDU, BNA, BOS, IAH, ORD, MDW, PHL) — move-in week can make those seats disappear quickly.
✅ Start monitoring flight loads earlier in the week, so you’re not surprised when Friday’s flight suddenly goes from wide open to overbooked.
Late summer = last-minute chaos. Planning a few days ahead makes all the difference. And don’t forget using ground transportation.
