Today, I traveled to Jamaica via Miami, FL (MIA); MIA was insane with travelers. I assume Spring Break is a reason, so have your alternate routings ready. The airline even had to move some passengers to a later flight as the Jamaica-bound flight I was on was overbooked.

There were flight delays between Houston, Austin, and Dallas today, plus Heathrow Airport was closed due to a fire at its power station. Pack Like You Might Not Get On

During Spring Break when flights are full and chances are tight, travel light and smart. Bring only a carry-on and pack as if you might need to quickly pivot to another city or airport.

Why?

  • If you don’t get on your first-choice flight, you can easily hop to a different gate or airport without waiting for checked baggage.

  • It makes you more agile if a gate agent offers a last-minute seat or if you need to reposition quickly.

  • Bonus: Some regional flights or alternate routes may only have overhead space for smaller bags—being prepared can make or break your boarding.

Traveling light = traveling smart when you’re non-revving during peak season!
