Hi Fellow Traveler,

It’s time for the weekly offers…

But first Merry Christmas and it’s also the first day of Hanukah and tomorrow is the first day of Kwanzaa. Whichever one you celebrate or none at all; enjoy the season.

Tomorrow, I’ll start a series of daily emails for 12 days for my annual 12 days of Christmas. This will be a travel scavenger hunt this year.

Each email will have an aviation clue; you just have to answer all 12 or as many as possible to win prizes. I hope you will participate and share with others. See ya tomorrow for the first one.

Let’s see what I found this week:

MILES/POINTS TIP OF THE WEEK

Donating Miles Can Make a Difference

It’s the Christmas season, so you don’t always have to use your miles for flights or upgrades—many airline loyalty programs let you donate them to charitable organizations. This can be especially meaningful during the holidays, allowing you to spread some cheer by helping others travel or support important causes.

How to Do It:

  1. Check Your Airline’s Website:

    • Most major carriers (like United, Delta, and American) have dedicated pages for mileage donations.

  2. Select a Cause You Care About:

    • Options may include medical transport charities, disaster relief organizations, or nonprofits that help veterans or children in need.

  3. Review Donation Minimums and Fees:

    • Some programs require a minimum number of miles to donate and may charge a small processing fee.

Pro Tip: If you have miles that might otherwise expire—or if you simply want to give back—donating them to a worthy cause is a great way to make someone else’s holiday season brighter.
