MILES/POINTS TIP OF THE WEEK
Island-Hopping with Miles and Points
Traveling in the Caribbean offers endless opportunities for island hopping—and you can make the most of your miles and points while doing it!
How to Maximize Your Rewards in the Caribbean:
Book Short-Haul Award Flights:
Use your miles on regional carriers or partner airlines that serve the Caribbean.
Look for award availability on airlines like JetBlue, Caribbean Airlines, or other partners within your loyalty program to save miles on short flights between islands.
British Airways, KLM, Air France and Virgin Atlantic all have flights within the Caribbean so look for Awards. It may also be a good way to fly a First/Business Class Cabin on the cheap.
Explore Hotel and Resort Promotions:
Many Caribbean resorts offer special points promotions, so check your hotel loyalty program for bonus point offers on stays.
Use your points for overnight stays at beachfront resorts, turning your miles into a mini-vacation.
Leverage Travel Portals:
Book cruises or island tours through travel portals that allow you to earn extra miles or points on your Caribbean adventures. You can check out my partner Viator to see what they have to offer.
Combining flights, hotels, and activities can boost your overall rewards.
Stay Flexible:
Keep your travel dates flexible to snag the best award deals or promotional rates, especially during the off-peak season when miles requirements can be lower.
Pro Tip:
Plan an itinerary that lets you fly into one island and out of another. Not only does this give you the ultimate Caribbean experience, but it also maximizes your miles by avoiding the round-trip requirement that some partners may have.

STANDING STATUS MATCHES
Here are some more status match offers from other airlines. Remember that you cannot status match within the same Alliance. So if you have, say American Airlines AAdvantage status, you can’t status match to British Airways:
