This Week, Let's Head to Porto, Portugal

Hi Fellow Traveler,

I hope you had a great week.

I’m almost over my bout with the flu. It’s been brutal at times. I guess as I get older, I don’t bounce back as quickly as I used to :-).

Know that Air Canada may have a strike looming, so this may affect your travel plans.

Also, as airlines get their schedules back in order post Hurricane Francine that hit Louisiana, you may experience delays.

Please support the newsletter partner, by checking out their ads. This helps to keep all this work going for you. This week, it’s Kudos.

Here's what I got this week.

  • I did not realize that I didn’t share a proper destination information page on Porto, Portugal. I’d call it a silent city as it gets overshadowed by so many others, but the city does hold its own. Have you been yet?

  • Plus I have a list of 104 thing you should do when you travel

  • If you’re traveling with your parents, here’s an article to help you

  • And, two new aviation news headlines.

  • And a Passrider travel tip.

How are things in your neck of the woods?

It’s time to STOP using Honey and Credit Karma

Kudos: The all-in-one app that outshines Honey, Credit Karma, and Apple Pay. Maximize rewards at 3M+ stores, discover top card deals with The Points Guy, and enjoy one-click checkouts. Pick your best card, earn more cashback, and simplify online shopping. Kudos does it all.

Finally sharing information on how to visit this northern city in Portugal, called Porto (Oporto).

PASSRIDER TIP: LEVERAGE AIRPORT LOUNGE DAY PASSES

Even if you don’t have lounge access through status or credit cards, many airports offer day passes for their lounges, which can be a great way to refresh during long travel days. Depending on the lounge, you may even have shower access, helping you recharge and stay productive between flights. Keep an eye out for special promotions or discounts to make the most of your layover in comfort!

You can also use my partner Viator to book these Lounges.

PS: This goes for regular travelers as well :-).

TRAVEL INSURANCE

A dear friend of mine recently fell ill while on holiday and, unfortunately, didn’t have travel insurance. She had to pay out of pocket for a doctor and nurse to visit her at home for treatment.

Thankfully, after four days, she recovered enough to fly back home for further care.

This experience is a reminder that travel insurance is as essential as booking your flights and hotel—it’s a crucial part of your journey. It offers peace of mind when you’re on the road, which is why I always carry an annual policy.

Consider getting travel insurance for each trip or an annual plan. You never know when you’ll need it—until you do.

Note: If you purchase travel insurance via this link, I receive a small commission. Thank you in advance.

TRAVEL CREDIT CARD OFFERS

If you use credit cards, consider one that earns points for every dollar spent, helping you travel nearly free when the time comes.

Here are some travel offers that recently arrived in my mailbox.

Note: I earn points as a commission if you apply and are approved for any of these cards. Thank you!
