Hi Fellow Traveler,

I hope you had a fantastic week and will enjoy the weekend despite all the challenges.

Please support the newsletter partner, by checking out their ads. This helps to keep all this work going for you. This week, it’s CEIFX.

I’m working on a giveaway, but it’s not yet finished and I wanted to test it, so you’ll perhaps see it tomorrow; stay tuned.

I’m also working on an online community. This is something that’s been in the works for some time now, but just pulling the plug and testing it. Some of you who are in my beta testing group will get a chance to see it first.

The community is a way for you to interact with each other and also for me to share even more travel information with you. I hope you’ll like it.

It’s also time to start planning for European Christmas Markets, so take a look at the Manchester post.

I also updated the 20 longest flights list, as it changed again.

And I have a simple Passrider Tip for you.

Passrider Travel Tip of the Week

Utilize Early Morning or Red-Eye Flights for Better Chances

One of the best-kept secrets in non-rev travel is to target early morning or red-eye flights. These flights tend to have lower passenger loads because many travelers prefer not to fly at inconvenient hours.

The first flights of the day are often less crowded since they are not impacted by delays, which pile up as the day progresses. Similarly, red-eye flights are less desirable for leisure travelers, giving you a better chance to snag a seat.

Bonus tip: Don’t leave the gate until the aircraft pushes back and even then…

TRAVEL INSURANCE

A dear friend of mine recently fell ill while on holiday and, unfortunately, didn’t have travel insurance. She had to pay out of pocket for a doctor and nurse to visit her at home for treatment.

Thankfully, after four days, she recovered enough to fly back home for further care.

This experience is a reminder that travel insurance is as essential as booking your flights and hotel—it’s a crucial part of your journey. It offers peace of mind when you’re on the road, which is why I always carry an annual policy.

Consider getting travel insurance for each trip or an annual plan. You never know when you’ll need it—until you do.

Note: If you purchase travel insurance via this link, I receive a small commission. Thank you in advance.
