Hi {{Name|Fellow Traveler}},

I hope you had a good week. Thank you for reading my work each week. I have some new readers, so welcome if you are one of them.

The wait times at select U.S. airports is pretty bad, due to the partial U.S. government shutdown, so ensure you give yourself enough time. You may check the individual airport’s websites for wait times. This will affect international connections as well as initial departures from the airports.

CNBC has a page that shows wait times around the country in one place. Note that this is going to be different based on the time of day you are traveling.

And I created this page that shows you the departure banks, so you get an idea of the times that the airports are busiest in terms of flights. This will give you an idea of what’s going on as you hear people say it took me 10 minutes but others say it took them 3 hours. And it’s because of the time they got to the airport. Let me know if this helps. I’ve only done three airports as a test. The page is at https://www.passrider.com/airport-departures-by-hour/.

The word was “futile.” But I heard “fertile,” I realized I was wrong, but only after I had already blurted out the spelling for the wrong word.

Yup, I was the Spelling Bee champion for my primary school in my small St. Elizabeth town. But didn’t make the regionals as I misspelt that word “futile.” I don’t think I ever got over that mistake :-).

This is the same primary school that is now damaged by Hurricane Melissa and the kids lost their computers.

I spelled "fertile"

We made it to $925 so far this week. We’re almost at $1,000— help me get there this week — link below.

Even $5 matters. Imagine if everyone reading this gave just that.

And please share with someone who loves Jamaica and it’s people. 🇯🇲
